Her parents knew what they were doing by feeding her food for the soul with sounds of James Brown, Parliament Funkadelic coming through one ear and Miles Davis and Charlie Parker coming through the other. . Kandi Cole is the house that music built. Funk and Jazz are the foundation, Hip-Hop is the bricks, and Soul is the furniture. She is a complete package. An artist. A performer. An entertainer.

Born and raised on Los Angeles, she chooses not to recite the typical subject matter of those who’ve rocked before her. Her sound enhances the ‘good’ in music. She’s soft as fur but her lyrics can be sharp as a knife. She is quick with a rebuttal to any objection of her not being recognized as an emcee. Not just a female emcee. An emcee. She can flow with the best of them. What sets Kandi Cole apart from the others is her impeccable timing and delivery. You wouldn’t think this young woman hailing from the West Coast had so much style in her flow. She’s jazzy over a smooth guitar riff or “bringin’ the pain” over a hard hitting 808. Kandi Cole is also apart of the all female emcee collective, The (SIS)TEM. Formed in 2006 via Project Blowed in Los Angeles, Kandi Cole joined forces with roughly 15 femcees to put together 2 projects "Female Perspective" in '07 and "SISTEM-ADDICT Takeover 2" in '08. The crew has been characterized as "The female Wu-Tang" as each member brings a different style, energy, and flow to the table.
